There is no direct train, and the drive is four to five hours each way. That single fact is why eight departures here leave from a named Paris address, why most of them run twelve to fourteen hours, and why two give up on the day-trip idea entirely and put you in a hotel overnight.

There is no direct train from Paris to Mont Saint-Michel. Doing it on public transport means a TGV to Rennes, a connecting bus, and roughly four hours each way before you have seen anything. The minivans also start earlier. A 7am departure reaches the car park before the coaches do, which is the single biggest lever on how the day feels.
About four hours on every one-day departure, and it is worth reading that number honestly. The shuttle queue happens at both ends, the shuttle stop is 350 metres from the gate, and the Grande Rue takes longer to climb than its length suggests when it is full.
One traveller counted three and three-quarter scheduled hours and pointed out how much of it went on queuing and climbing. Plan on three hours inside the walls for every four on the schedule, and spend them in the right order.
On these departures, mostly not, and two listings say so in exactly those words: entrance ticket included, guided visit of the abbey not included. What you get instead is an audio app on your phone, a handheld tablet, or a multilingual host who waits outside.
The exception is the private D-Day day trip, whose fare covers abbey tickets and a guided visit led by the abbey’s own guide. If having the building explained matters to you, the Bayeux departures are the better answer.
Two departures give up on the day-trip idea. One runs Rouen, Honfleur and the D-Day beaches on day one with a 4-star hotel in Caen, then Saint-Malo and the Mont on day two. The other pairs the Mont with the Loire châteaux — Angers, Langeais, Chenonceau and Chambord.
